The squad knocked out the Owls 9-6 in game one of the day before falling to the Cougars 14-4. With the results, the Marlins cap their season with a record of 31-16, finishing with a program record three wins in the NCAA Division III Championship.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team will be heading back to the NCAA Division III Championships in Oklahoma City after being crowned the Super Regional Champs Sunday morning at Marlins Park. The team downed Berry College, 7-6, in eight innings after a rain delay caused the game to be played over the course of two days. With the win the Marlins reach the 50-win mark for the second-straight season (50-2).

The win puts the Marlins at 30-15 on the year, reaching the 30-win mark for the first time since 2004. The squad will now face off with the top-seeded Rowan at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday in another win-or-go-home match up.
