Marlins Finish Third at VSGA Intercollegiate
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The Virginia Wesleyan College men's golf team finished third at the VSGA Intercollegiate Championship held at the Williamsburg Club as the final round concluded Tuesday.
The Marlins shot a second-round, 301, five strokes better than their first round score.
Christopher Newport University cruised to a win after entering the final round with a nine stroke lead. The Captains won by 16 strokes after shooting a two-day 579 (+3). Ferrum College followed with a 595 (+19), followed by VWC's 607 (+31).
Seth Johnson led the Marlins with a second-round 76 (+4) to finish with a 150 (+6), tying him for eighth place.
David Rabil of CNU won the individual title after shooting a two-day 133 (-11), 12 strokes better than the second place finisher.
