Virginia Wesleyan University forward Anna Pedicone earned ODAC Rookie of the Year recognition to headline the All-ODAC women's soccer awards released on Wednesday.Lynchburg College centerback Emily Maxwell received two special awards, garnering both the ODAC Player of the Year by the league's head coaches and the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete by the conference's sports information directors. Bridgewater College mentor Mike Van Horn picked up ODAC Coach of the Year laurels.
The Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team will travel to The College of New Jersey for the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament this weekend. The Marlins will face Tufts University while the host Lions will challenge Roger Williams University. TCNJ will host Roger Williams at 11 a.m. on Saturday, followed by the VWU-Tufts match at 1:30 p.m. The two winners will compete for a spot in the Round of 16 on Sunday at 1 p.m.
