Women's Soccer Plays Generals to Scoreless Draw

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team played Washington and Lee to a scoreless tie Saturday afternoon at the Trinder Center. With the result, the Marlins 7-3-3 on the season and 3-2-1 in the ODAC. Washington and Lee move to 12-0-2 on the year (5-0-1 ODAC).

 
It was an even keeled match between the Marlins and Generals as the teams were separated by just one shot on goal. The best chance the Marlins had came in the opening half as Reina Araujo headed a cross that just went north of the cross bar. Mia Meinhardt had the other top chance for the Marlins as she manuevered her way through multiple defenders before her shot was just barely blocked by a General defender.
 
Amruta Karkare played between the pipes for all 110 minutes, stopping all five of the shots Washington and Lee threw at her.
