HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University volleyball team hopped back into the win column as they dropped Eastern Mennonite, 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-21),, on the road. With the victory the Marlins improve to 10-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Eastern Mennonite goes to 7-3 on the season (1-1).
Offense was a key component to victory as the team finished with a kill percentage .354. Leading the way was Elizabeth Britton and Kathryn Yeager as both finished with 10 kills. Just behind them was Greta Coss and Amber Matalus as they ended with nine.
Haley Sutton was the primary facilitator as she racked up 38 assists. Sutton also collected five aces which led all players on the court.
Volleyball returns to action at 7 p.m. on Friday as the team hits the road to take on Randolph.
